Web Accessibility at Johns Hopkins
The Johns Hopkins University is committed to the creation and dissemination of information by using the most advanced technological resources available today. In keeping with the spirit of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and in an open letter on accessibility dated September 20, 2000 to the President of the United States, from President Brody and other research university presidents, persons with disabilities should have equal access to facilities, programs and communication systems as anyone else.
Communications systems include, but are not limited to, Web pages, software, online services and library resources. By creating and maintaining accessible Web sites, all members of the Johns Hopkins community can benefit from the immense resources the Institution has to offer. This Web site provides guidance for the creation of communications systems that are accessible to individuals with visual impairments, learning disabilities, and other conditions that may limit or prevent their access to electronic and web-based services.
